Rachel was born about 1780 in Little Bolton.  Rachel's father was John Mather and her mother was Martha Roscoe. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Isaac, Rebecca and Anne.  She was the youngest of the five known children.  She died in January 1784 in Little Bolton.  She was buried on January 24th, 1784 at St. Anne (Turton).1
