Anne was born on January 20th, 1771 in Little Bolton and her baptism took place on March 11th, 1771 at Bank Street Unitarian conducted by Reverend Philip Holland.1 2  Anne's father was John Mather and her mother was Martha Roscoe. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Isaac, Rebecca and Rachel.  She was the second youngest of the five known children.  She died at 11 months old in December 1771 in Little Bolton.  She was buried on December 4th, 1771 at Turton Chapel.3
