Mary was born in 1752 in Warrington and her baptism took place on January 19th, 1752 at St. Elphin (Warrington).1  Mary's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Marjory. She had three sisters named Mary, Martha and Alice.  She was the oldest of the four children.
