Martha was born in 1754 in Warrington and her baptism took place on May 26th, 1754 at St. Elphin (Warrington).1  Martha's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Marjory. She had three sisters named Mary, Mary and Alice.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
