    • The Order made by Richard Townley and Edward Whitehead Clerk two of his Mayoships Justices of the peace and Quorum in and for the said county under their hands and seals bearing date this fifteenth day of June last for the Removal of Thomas Mather Elizabeth his Wife and Mary aged 8 months their child poor persons out of Longworth into Turton both in the said County and for settlement of these in Turton aforesaid Is by this Court by Council of both the said towns quashed Annihilated and made void.

    • On 15th June 1765 a petition was issued against Thomas Mather, following Poor Law, and his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Mary, aged 8 months to be returned from Longworth to Turton.
Mary was born in October 1764 in Turton.1  Mary's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Smalley.
