  • On 15th June 1765 a petition was issued against Thomas Mather, following Poor Law, and his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Mary, aged 8 months to be returned from Longworth to Turton.

  • Assumed to be Betty, based on Turton "wife" Burial record of 21 Jan 1769.  It appears she died very soon after giving birth to Jane.  Perhaps this is why Thomas remarried only 8 months later.
