Margarett's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann. She had four brothers and a sister, named Henry, Thomas, Mordicai, Peter and Margaret. She was the fourth oldest of the six children. She died in 1670 in Turton. Her burial was on October 21st, 1670 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹
