21 Jan 1816, James Matheer, butcher (like his father) married Alice Taylor at St. Peter's Bolton. After they married, James and Alice lived in Princes Street, Wigan where they had daughters Ellen and Esther.
However, this mariage is unconfirmed as James died in Warrington in 1844, aged 52
