James Mather

James' father was John Mather and his mother was Martha (Matty) Higginson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Mary Mather. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Henry, Mary and Beatrice. He was the fourth oldest of the five children.

- Beatirce (sister) is a unique name at these time. She married at Farnworth in 1824. It follows therefore, the marriages of Thomas (1820) and James (1829) also at Farnworth are her brothers. However, who is James's witness William Mather?
