Henricus, known as Henry, was born on June 10th, 1811 in Radcliffe and his baptism took place on June 17th, 1811 in Haslingden.1  Henry's father was William Mather and his mother was Mary Rushton. He had two sisters named Elizabeth and Rachel.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Marianne.
