Henricus, known as Henry, was born in 1669 in Middle Hulton and his baptism took place on July 11th, 1669 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Henry's father was Johannis (John) Mather and his mother was Elizabeth Mather. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Jacob, Samuel, John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Margareta, Mary, Margareta and Mary.  He died at the age of 10 in 1679 in Westhoughton.2
