Hannah was born in March 1787 in Worsley and her baptism took place on May 27th, 1787 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Eccles).1  Hannah's father was William Mather and her mother was Mary Mollinaux. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Mary, Margaret and Lydia.  She was the youngest of the six children.
