Emily was born in September 1863 in Sheffield.1  Emily's father was George Mather and her mother was Eliza Lomas. She had two sisters named Elizabeth and Eliza.  She was the oldest of the three known children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Joseph, William and Mary.  She died at the age of 22 on January 6th, 1886 in Sheffield.2
