Elizabeth was born in April 1830 in Billinge and her baptism took place on May 2nd, 1830 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1  Elizabeth's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Anne. She had two brothers named John and Thomas.  She was the youngest of the three children.
