Elizabeth was born in 1801 in WestLeigh and her baptism took place on August 16th, 1801 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).1  Elizabeth's father was Simon Mather and her mother was Sarah (Sally) Woodward. She had three brothers named John, James and Simon.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
