Eli was born in 1850 in Over Darwen.1  He had a brother and a sister, named George and Millison.  He was adopted by George Sanderson & Betty Knowles. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Knowles, Abram and Alice.  Eli is no longer alive.
