Betty Mather

Betty was born in 1775 in Astley and her baptism took place on March 4th, 1775 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).¹

Betty's father was William Mather and her mother was Alice Aldcroft. She had two brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Edward and Sarah. She was the oldest of the four children.

- Betty Mather, aged 23 married John Hulme in Eccles in 1798.
  
  There is another Betty Mather (aged 20) marrying John March (aged 22) in Nov 1799. This must be another, 4 years younger!
