Alice was born in 1889 in Victoria (Au). Alice's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Sarah Belle McCann. Her paternal grandparents were David Mather and Esther Heaton. She had four brothers named David, Thomas, Alfred and Raymond. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 74 in 1963 in Australia.
