Jane was born in October 1789 in Breightmet and her baptism took place on October 4th, 1789 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Jane's father was Richard Lomax and her mother was Mary Kenyon.  Her paternal grandparents were James Lomax and Mary Crompton. She had a brother and a sister, named James and Martha.  She was the oldest of the three children.
