Henry was born in 1842 in Breightmet.1  Henry's father was James Lomax and his mother was Nancy (Mary) Holt. He had a brother and four sisters, named John, Sarah, Jane, Ann and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 68 in 1910 in Bury.2
