Thomas was born in 1799 in Edgworth and his baptism took place on February 5th, 1799 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Thomas' father was William Isherwood and his mother was Margaret (Peggy) Haslam. He had a brother and five sisters, named John, Jenny, Mally, Anne, Kitty and Alice.
