In 1789, when Jane was baptised, her mother was known a Margaret. Then for all the other baptisms, Margaret became known as Peggy.

Peggy and William were married in a religious ceremony on November 11th, 1789 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1 They had two sons and five daughters, named John, Thomas, Jenny, Mally, Anne, Kitty and Alice. There are no more children. Kitty and Alice were twins.
