Mary was born in 1880.  Mary's father was Thomas Horrocks and her mother was Jane Dewhurst.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Dewhurst and Esther Holt. She had a brother and three sisters, named Thomas, Esther, Elizabeth and Fanny.  Mary and Fanny were twins.
