Henry was born in 1836 in Bolton.1  Henry's father was Samuel Horrocks and his mother was Patience Walsh.  His maternal grandparents were Robert Walsh and Elizabeth (Betty) Mather. He had a sister named Ellen.  He was the older of the two known children.
