Jane's father was Benjamin Holt and her mother was Jane Kay.  Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Holt and Ellen Hamers. She had two brothers and a sister, named Edmund, Thomas and Jane.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 1 on December 5th, 1819 in Turton.  She was buried on December 5th, 1819 at St. Anne (Turton).²
