Not at all sure of Elizabeth's maiden name. On her 12 Oct 1879 marriage certificate, her father was Thomas Hardy, so perhaps her daughter Ellen was illigimate.
Elizabeth Marsden was working as a servant in Blackburn in 1871. Birth records do suggest that this may be her.
