Margaret, known as Peggy, was born on April 1st, 1924 in Tranmere.1  Peggy's father was Arthur Thomas Hamer and her mother was Bessie Rogerson.  Her maternal grandparents were George Edward Rogerson and Maggie Jackson. She had two half-brothers named Peter and Arthur.  She died from cancer at the age of 71 on August 25th, 1995 in Birkenhead.  The funeral took place on September 1st, 1995 at St. Marys (Upton).  She was cremated on September 1st, 1995 at the Landican Cemetery.2 2

    • Standing: Margaret Brereton, Harry Dittmer (Harry's Father), Alan Bridgwater (assumed to be Best Man), Harry Dittmer (Groom), Peggy (Bride), Arthur T Harmer (Peggy's Father), Clifford Dittmer.
      Seated: Joan Dittmer (Bridesmaid), Elsie Dittmer (Harry's Mother), Elizabeth Harmer (Peggy's Mother).  The three on the right are unknown.
‌Peggy and Harry were married in a religious ceremony on April 1st, 1945 at St. Marys (Upton) by H Crabb.3   They had two biological sons named Colin and Roger.  They also had an adopted daughter named Lynda.  There are no more children.
