Thomas' father was Samuel Haigh and his mother was Sarah Parkin.  His maternal grandparents were George Parkin and Susanna Harrison. He had three sisters named Sarah, Hannah and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 76 in January 1815 in Marsden.  He was buried on January 6th, 1815 in Marsden.²
