Sarah was born in 1736.  Sarah's father was Samuel Haigh and her mother was Sarah Parkin.  Her maternal grandparents were George Parkin and Susanna Harrison. She had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Hannah and Mary.  She was the oldest of the four children.
