She had three brothers named Henry, John and Thomas. She was adopted by John Mather & Elizabeth Gregory. Alice is no longer alive.

General Notes
- In 1841, Betty Gregory (15) and Alice Gregory (7) were at Welsh Hill with John and Elizabeth Mather and their two sons. It appears that the both were illigitimate daughters. John and Parnew Gregory (both 30) were neighbours. All are silk weavers.
  
  Aged 16 in 1851, Alice "Mather", is daughter of John and Elizabeth, a silk finisher at Welch Hill, Pennington, WestLeigh.
