Alexander, known as Alex, was born on December 19th, 1896 in Alexandria.1   Alex's father was Alexander Graham and his mother was Christina McFarlane.  His paternal grandparents were Alexander Graham and Jeanie Alexander Sharp; his maternal grandparents were Duncan McFarlane and Christina (Katherine) I Jardine. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Duncan, George, Kate and Jeanie. He had an adopted brother named John.  He died at the age of 86 in 1982 in Glasgow.1
