Alexander's father was Alexander Graham and his mother was Jeanie Alexander Sharp. He had three brothers and two sisters, named George, Bill, John, Margaret and Jeannie. He was the oldest of the six known children. He died at the age of 79 on January 12th, 1952 in Glasgow.²
