Both her marriage record shows Ann was the daughter of Thomas Grace, a miner.
James and John's birth certs (attcfhaed) shows his Ann as "Ann Potter, Late Balshaw, formerly Grace (or Grease)".
In 1841, "Nancy" (12) was with her father Thos (36), grandmother Mary (56) and sisters Mary, Betty and Alice (9,7 & 5). Her mother had died ca 1837.
In 1851, Ann Grace was a servant at the Derby Arms, Lane Ends, aged 21, born Tarbock. She was living with William and Ellen Turton (37 & 40) and daughters, wheelwright and publican. Could he be the illegitimate father of Mary? Well probably not as he's not a miner and that wouldnt explain the DNA matches.
In 1864, John and Ann were living at 18 Highfield Road, West Derby when James was born.
