Henry was born on October 28th, 1797 in Great Harwood and his baptism took place on December 24th, 1797 at St. Bartholomew (Great Harwood).1  Henry's father was Cuthbert Gibson and his mother was Nancy Mercer.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Gibson and Margaret (Peggy) Giles. He had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Alice, Ann, Margaret and Maria.  He was the oldest of the six known children.  He died at the age of 15 in December 1812 in Bury.  He was buried on December 4th, 1812 at St. Bartholomew (Great Harwood).1
