Thompson was born in 1801 in Morton (Bingley).¹ Thompson's father was William Foulds and his mother was Hannah (Ann) Wild. He had three brothers named Joseph, George and Israel. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 55 on February 24th, 1856 in Keighley. His burial was on February 27th, 1856 in Keighley.²
