William's father was Mr John Eddowes and his mother was Elizabeth Taylor.  His paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Poynton. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, David, Elizabeth, Ann and Mary. He had an adopted brother named Edward.  He died at the age of 64 in October 1850 in Wrexham.  He was buried on October 4th, 1850 in Marchwiel.¹
