Nora's father was Walter Dooley (Doxey) and her mother was Rebecca Breeze.  Her paternal grandparents were <unknown> and Mary Ann Dooley; her maternal grandparents were John Breeze and Emma Breeze. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Walter, Thomas, Mary, Edna and Ivy.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.
