Margaret was born in October 1840 in Ellesmere and her christening took place there on October 15th, 1840.1 2  Margaret's father was Samuel Dawson and her mother was Mary Rhodes. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, Edward, James, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Ellen, Sarah and Eliza.  She was the seventh oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 75 in 1915 in Birkenhead.1
