Gladys' father was Marinus Marion Bush and her mother was Mary (Marrian) Ann Arthur. Her maternal grandparents were Edward James Arthur and Catherine Bennett. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Marinus, John, Kay, Mary and Loa. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 95 on April 28th, 1998 in California (CA).¹
