John was born in 1798 in Saddleworth.1  John's father was Benjamin Buckley and his mother was Elin (Nelly) Bottomley. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Abner, Cornelius, John, Sarah and Hannah.  He died at the age of 3 in February 1801 in Saddleworth.  He was buried on February 6th, 1801 in Saddleworth.1 1
