Cornelius was born on November 25th, 1795 in Saddleworth and his baptism took place there on May 18th, 1796.1  Cornelius' father was Benjamin Buckley and his mother was Elin (Nelly) Bottomley. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Abner, John, John, Sarah and Hannah.
