Henry was born in 1824 in Royton and his baptism took place on September 1st, 1825 at St. Peter (Oldham).1 2  Henry's father was John Buckley and his mother was Sarah Lees. He had a brother and a sister, named Daniel and Betty.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
