Sarah was born in December 1872 in Bolton.1  Sarah's father was George Booth and her mother was Sarah Ann Rostron.  Her paternal grandparents were John Booth and Ann Hulme (Holmes). She had three brothers named John, Thomas and Walter.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
