Mary's father was Richard Booth and her mother was Ann Cunliffe. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Yates, Peter, George, Ann, Elizabeth, Alice, Ellen and Sarah. She had an adopted brother named Richard. She had three half-brothers named William, Daniel and Robert.  She died at the age of 2 in 1847 in Turton.¹
