Margaret's father was John Booth and her mother was Nancy Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Edward Mather and Ann Brambley. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Benjamin, Mary and Rachell.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 5 in October 1877 in Edgworth.  She was buried on October 28th, 1877 at St. Anne (Turton).²
