Thomas' father was Isaac Bolton and his mother was Alice Yates.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Bolton Esq and Esther Nield. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Thomas, Isaac, Mary, Mary and Esther.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died in 1780.
