Charles was born on December 30th, 1828 in Newsome and his baptism took place on April 19th, 1829 in Almondbury.1  Charles' father was Thomas Blackburn and his mother was Rebecca Kay.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Blackburn and Ann Oldfield. He had two brothers and a sister, named James, David and Hannah.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 43 on January 14th, 1872 in Huddersfield.  He was buried on January 16th, 1872 in Almondbury.2 3 



Charles' family with Rachel Liversidge

‌Charles and Rachel were married in a religious ceremony on September 27th, 1849 in Kirkheaton.4   The family line is yet to be completed.
