Ann was born on March 31st, 1822 in Tottington and her baptism took place on January 17th, 1823 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).1  Ann's father was Benjamin Beswick and her mother was Alice Rothwell. She had a brother and a sister, named Benjamin and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the three known children.
