Leslie's father was Vincent Archibald Beaumont and his mother was Hannah Bottomley. His maternal grandparents were John Bottomley and Hannah Gill Dyson. He had a brother named John. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 7 in June 1925 in Huddersfield.²
