General Notes
In 1841, Thomas Alker (55) was a Blacksmith at Water Gate in the township of Worthington, Standish. With him were Margaret (30), James (25), John (15) and grandson Richard (4)
In 1849, daughter Jane married Isaac Dodd. She recorded her father as Thomas Allker, a Smith.
In 1851, Thomas Alker (Wid, 68, Blacksmith) was still at Water Gate, Worthington with his daughter Margaret (40), son James (39) and grandson Richard (13). Close by on the Wigan Road were Mary Alker (35, unmarried) and Blacksmith William Alker (two households) who are probably daughter and son.
Thomas and Ann were married in a religious ceremony on April 29th, 1810 at St. Wilfred (Standish).4 They had a son and two daughters, named Samuel, Margaret and Mary. There are possibly more children.
